The first by Lee Child is a great one. It really shows the first steps of Jack Reacher's journey of become a true Loner. I recommend it to anyone who enjoys true justice and a great story.
The twists and turns keep you hopping. This is my first Reacher read, and I am hooked.
He then begins the non stop action. Joe Reacher is arrested the minute he hits this small town for murder, later to find out that the murdered man is a stunning supprise.
It gets messy. The towns folk begin dying in gruesome ways at a record pace.
Joe is a former, highly trained Military Police investigator, and is drawn into the web to find out who and why. Very much like James Paterson who I can't get enough of.
It is a fast read you will not want to put it down.
Child's does an excellent job of building the character of Reacher as well as the other main characters. I found out it was number seven in a series. I downloaded Persuader when it was free for the Kindle. I never saw the plot twist coming. So, I decided to start with the beginning - sounded logical to me. I was hooked from the start. I am a big Reacher fan now. Stayed up very late to finish the book - even had my Kindle reading to me in the car because I just had to find out what was going on.
I have started making my way through the Lee Child Jack Reacher series. All I want to say is that Child is good enough at this page turner stuff that you should read these in order. Although you dont have to, it seems to be a richer experience if you come to know the character as Child figured him out and developed him.Reacher grows a bit more interesting, a bit more engrossing, with the passing of each of the early books in this series. And they are pretty readily available.
Was looking for something in the line of the Vince Flynn books (Mitch Rapp series). This was not it.
